My thoughts

We often plan to do something. But when it's time to go do that, we will want to do other things. In this ted, the speaker, Tim Urban describes the differences between the brains of people who like to delay and not procrastinating, and how to keep themselves from delaying.

The speaker pointed out that the brain of a person who is not  procrastinating lives a rational decision maker but there is one more a monkey in the brain of a person who is likes to procrastinate. It's called Instant Gratification Monkey.

When the procrastinator decides to start working, the monkey will jump out and make a mess. That's why every time we want to do homework, we will think that we can do that after taking a nap or slide Facebook.

So how long will it end? The speaker thinks that when the deadline is getting closer, there will be a monster in your brain called Panic Monster.

It will drive the Instant Gratification Monkey away so that you can actually perform the work.
For example: Do you have an experience, you can't write a report in two weeks, but when you have to hand in the report tomorrow, you suddenly have the ability to finish it in one night.

Everyone should have a little procrastination. This ted tells us we should be aware of the existence of the Instant Gratification Monkey, and always remind ourselves that people's life is limited.

By changing the habit of procrastination, we can finish the work on time , and enjoy these happy times more fully and easily.

The speaker showed a picture of the grid in the end.He told us that this is a life calendar and one grid represents one week. There are only 52 weeks in a year, so there are only 52 grids, and how many grids have you used?

The speaker asked us to look at this  life calendar and think about what we are delaying? Especially those things that are important to my life.

After watching this ted, I can't help but think that there are many things in life that have no deadlines, so that why we like to to delay. As the speaker said "I feel like a bystander in my life."How much time do we waste on playing on the phone? How much life we have wasted?I thought about it.Well...I will continue to think about it tomorrow..

MOOCs

The class: Conversational English Skills, from  National Tsing Hua University My feelings in attending MOOCs: I think MOOCs are very helpful to me because I am a very easy distracted person, often distracted by all kinds of things, like the teacher is speaking too slow to make me feel boring, or the teacher is speaking too fast, so I can't understand what he is saying, or even suddenly I think of funny jokes, etc. These will make me unable to concentrate... It's only about 20 minutes for a class to really take classes seriously. However, MOOCs can solve this problem. It has the advantage of not being limited to time and space. As long as you are connected to the Internet, anyone can learn at any time. Even if you are tired, you can pause the movie. If you can't understand it, you can listen to it repeatedly. If the teacher is speaking to fast, you can adjust the voice speed. Then, MOOCs can also be heard when you have time, even during meals or on the way
